Do you have a background in sales? A back ground in employer engagement? Or a background in recruitment? If yes, then this could be the role for you. We have an exciting opportunity, for the right candidate as an Employer Engagement Officer. The role involves engaging with employers to secure work placements and jobs for our young learners with Learning disabilities and/or Autism in the Kingston area. We welcome applications from everyone, so come as you are and join us. Together we are Mencap As a Employer Engagement Officer you will take the lead in Employer Engagement for the Kingston team. You will be responsible for building and developing strong working relationships with employers from different industries and sectors to secure work placements, and negotiate paid employment for our supported Interns. Our interns are supported in the workplace by a Skills Coach and you will oversee their work to ensure that placements progress and the learners become independent, eventually moving into paid work. What does our Supported Internship programme offer? To work with designated employers to identify suitable pathways and work-related opportunities for learners. Sustain rapport with key employers by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities. Develop and nurture stakeholder and partnership relationships to generate a consistent flow of employment opportunities for our Supported Internships Management of job coaches  What will you need to be an Employer Engagement Officer? The ability to work on your own initiative. Good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with learners, employers, teaching professionals and parents/carers is essential. The ability to maintain accurate and up to date records using IT based systems is also required. Ideally, you will have employer engagement and marketing experience - as an important aspect of the role is creating work opportunities for the people we support.
