14-16 Pastoral Intervention Officer

We have a fantastic opportunity for two passionate and resilient Pastoral Intervention Officers to join our dedicated 14-16 Alternative Provision.
The successful candidate will be working with learners in Year 10 and Year 11 who are accessing alternative education. Learners will range in abilities and the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the range of skills to effectively engage these young people. Learners accessing the provision often have additional needs, some of which are diagnosed and learners have an EHCP. The provision predominantly caters for learners who have SEMH/EBD/ASD needs.
One post will be based at our Victoria Building (Thornton Road, BD1 2DX) and the other will be based at our Springfield Centre (Idlethorpe Way, BD10 9JB) however you may be expected to work at both sites from time to time. You will be asked your site preference at interview.
This is a term-time role working 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.
Responsibilities include:
Receive and supervise students excluded from, or otherwise not working to, a normal timetable Assist the teaching team with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans SMART target setting to support the student achievement Referral to other support services as appropriate Contributing to student progression and career plans Develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements with students and provide support for distressed students Provide information and advice to enable students to make choices about their own learning/behaviour/attendance Challenge and motivate students, promote and reinforce self-esteem Provide feedback to students in relation to progress, achievement, behaviour, attendance etc. Delivery of the tutorial PSHE to the whole cohort of students.
