Main duties of the job

Participate as a member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of research based care, support the team of staff working in the area to deliver a quality service which is linked to high standard of patient care and support the Sisters / Charge Nurses and Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in the training and development of junior staff

Provide essential nursing care and putting the patients first.

Administering medications when due.

Admitting, planning, evaluating and discharging patients

Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel

Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register Commitment to lifelong learning Evidence of further education, training and on-going learning Ability to product updated personal professional portfolio

Desirable

Evidence of Assessing and Mentorship qualification Evidence of appropriate Specialist Qualification

Skills

Essential

Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal Ability to work within a team Good self-awareness Good organisational skills Ability to priorities and organise workload Flexibility around working hours
