Job summary
JOB PURPOSE
To complete driving assessments that objectively measure the capability to drive safely. These assessments are suitable for those returning to driving, older people at licence renewal, those requiring clarification on adaptations and driving licence codes or if there is any concern around cognitive impairment.
To provide driving tuition to learner drivers and full licence holders needing familiarisation lessons with new adaptations/controls.
Main duties of the job
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an ADI preferably with some experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team with knowledge of disabilities, medical conditions or learning difficulties. However, consideration will be made for ADIs that have a passion for learning about vehicle adaptations, the impact that disability and medical conditions have on driving safety, and to support people to retain or acquire driving independence.
All training will be completed at Carshalton, Leatherhead or Worthing.
This role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks which will include an Enhanced with children and adults barred list check by the DBS (at the cost of QEF if you are not already a member of The Update Service).
About us
This is a new and exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our driving assessment service and driving school based mainly in the Carshalton area, and outreach venues in Winchester, Worthing, Leatherhead and Twickenham. You will work alongside multi-disciplinary teams in client centred environments to apply your skills and knowledge to assess individual driver safety for full licence holders and identify learning potential for provisional licence holders.

Job responsibilities
To carry out driving assessments for clients with a range of conditions at a range of QEF venues or satellites. To deliver driving lessons to clients of QEF Mobility Services using a range of vehicle adaptations. To provide advice to other staff and clients regarding driving requirements, licensing and legislation. To produce high quality reports in a timely manner including Medico-legal and litigation reports. To support the Driving Assessor & ADI Team Lead in service development and working towards standards required by Driving Mobility and our other stakeholders. To undertake wheelchair accessible vehicle, passenger transfer, boot hoist assessments in conjunction with a healthcare professional. To be responsible for your own CPD and to undertake training as required by Driving Mobility Accreditation. To support QEF training and other events as required both internal and external. To take a proactive role in ensuring equipment/vehicles fleet are safe and appropriate for service delivery. To have a responsibility for the H&S for yourself and clients and to participate in H&S activities within the service. To undertake other reasonable activities as required by line manager or centre manager. Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
Fully qualified driving instructor registered with DVSA Educated to GSCE level or similar

Teaching qualification Completion of Driving Mobility WBIS education programme
