This team will operate 7 days aweek between the hours of 8am and 8pm.

This is a developmentalBand 5 post. We can offer a robust preceptorship programmewith potential for Band 6 after 12-18 months (subject to evidence ofcompetency).

CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatmentteam, works within the community and in clinic bases across Worcestershire,completing urgent assessments and offering intensive support to children andyoung people who might otherwise require inpatient care or are in need ofintensive support that exceeds the normal capacity of a generic CAMHS team. We operate 7 days a week between the hoursof 8am and 8pm and are looking for an additional Mental Health practitioner tojoin our team.

We welcome applications fromregistered professionals with a passion for Mental Health from a variety ofbackgrounds RMN / Nursing/ OT / Social Workers etc.

Main duties of the job

With this role no two days will bethe same, this is a fast-paced team aiming to provide high quality communitycare for children and young people in crisis.You will be required to complete comprehensive risk assessments andcreate Safety Plans that can support children and young people in thecommunity. You will liaise with themulti-disciplinary team both within CAMHS and within the childs larger supportnetwork to ensure they have appropriate support to help keep them safe and aidrecovery. The home treatment modelwill focus on skill-based sessions, teaching children and young people copingstrategies to support them in crisis situations, whilst also assessing any ongoingrisk and offering creative solutions to ongoing difficulties.

Qualifications

Essential

RMN / SW / OT I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer

Desirable

Relevant Pre or Post graduate study or be able to demonstrate further skills-based training.

Knowledge

Essential

Working knowledge of Health Service Good knowledge of recognised disorders and illnesses in the field of mental health Understand a range of communication styles when working with children and families in distress

Desirable

Knowledge of Mental Health Act Working knowledge of mental health issues in CAMHS Services

Experience

Essential

Experienced gained during pre- registration training either in a mental health or child placement setting Use of therapeutic interventions with children and young people 1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work Providing consultation Liaising across Tier I-IV CAMH Services

Desirable

Experience in mental health care. Working in inpatient or community settings Working in a multi-disciplinary Team

Skills & Abilities

Essential

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats. Computer literacy. Ability to travel to patients at the needs of the service across a wide geographical area in a timely manner.
