Responsibilities of a SEN English Teacher:

  • Create dynamic and interactive English lessons tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of your students.
  • Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages active participation, collaboration, and mutual respect among students.
  • Regularly evaluate student performance in English and use data analysis to inform your instructional decisions.
  • Differentiate your teaching approach to address each student’s unique requirements, providing additional support or challenging tasks as necessary.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure student success and well-being.

Qualifications and Requirements of a SEN English Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), NQT, or equivalent certification.
  • Degree in English or another relevant field (preferred).
  • Proven experience teaching in a secondary school setting, preferably across multiple year groups (ECTs encouraged to apply).
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for working with children and commitment to promoting their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to the school community.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
