We have an exciting opportunity for a LAS ST higher in Trauma and Orthopaedics from 7th August 2024 - 5th August 2025. This posts will form part of the surgical on call SpR rota at Morriston Hospital.

The Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics is led by a Clinical Director supported Clinical Leads, Head of Nursing and General Managers.

We have close links with Swansea University and other University College partners in South Wales especially in the areas of research & development and multi-professional teaching.

We place great emphasis on continuous professional development and will actively support you in the development and achievement of personal goals.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a clinical service in conjunction with your colleagues under the direction of a Consultant in T & O , which will include the responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.

You will be required to participate on the on call rota with prospective cover.

You will be required to contribute to the T & O inpatients, day cases and out patients, with an appropriate level of consultant supervision according to your level of experience.

You will provide advice to clinicians in hospital and primary care, originating either from telephone calls or ward referrals.

Morriston Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services, including specialist services serving the local population.These services are supported by critical care facilities, which include a 28 bed general ITU and HDU, a cardiac ITU and HDU, a plastic surgery ITU and HDU and a full range of high quality diagnostic and therapeutic services. The hospital component encompasses a Coronary Care Unit, several General Medical specialties, a well-developed Trauma and Orthopaedic service & a range of General Surgical specialties.
