HSBC Corporate Banking in the UK provides both domestic and international commercial banking services to our existing and prospective clients. Clients will typically have turnover of £15m to £350m. 

Our Corporate & Commercial Banking business serves over a million customers across more than 50 markets, ranging from small enterprises focused primarily on their home markets, through to corporates operating across borders. Whether it is working capital, term loans, trade finance, risk management, or payments and cash management solutions, we provide the tools and expertise that businesses need to thrive. The role of a Relationship Director is to engage with our existing and prospective customers to help them realise their ambitions. Customer portfolios will consist of both domestic and international relationships and the role will involve managing all aspects of the relationship including portfolio management, identifying opportunities for growth, managing operational and credit risk management, stakeholder management and delivering exceptional customer service.

To be successful in this role you will create and maintain strong and evolving partnerships internally and externally.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network.
• Be an ambassador for HSBC and develop the bank’s profile in the local business and wider community.
• Supporting customers and placing their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards.
• Seeking new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships to identify new business opportunities.
• Building a network of business introducers in the local professional and business community. 
• Adhere to structures and processes in place for the management of credit, operational, reputation, financial crime, and regulatory risk.
• Collaborate with product partners to assess needs of international and domestic customers and offer appropriate solutions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Experience working in a relevant client facing role within Commercial Banking (CMB) is essential.
• Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer’s needs, applying appropriate products and solutions is essential.
• Ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
• A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes. 
• Highly skilled at building and managing complex relationships and executing complex lending transactions.
• Self-driven with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and work collaboratively to deliver to deadlines. 
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and an ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Comprehensive credit and related transactional skills and knowledge are essential.

This is a hybrid position with the base location being Canada Square, London. Clients are based across London and there is an expectation of the working week consisting of home and the office base working, along with visiting clients on a regular basis.
