Overview of the role:

Through good communication, presentation and influencing skills the HS&E Advisor will:

Deliver effective risk management within the business, including ensuring risk reduction and mitigation measures are implemented and there is appropriate emergency preparednessEnsure compliance to HS&E legal requirements, JCB policies and international H&S and E management standardsMonitor HS&E performance trends to propose objectives and improvement plans for managers to implementDevelop and deliver a risk based assurance plan within the business and in support of other businessesIdentify HS&E competence requirements and deliver the necessary training, supported by HS&E Co-ordinators if assignedReport and investigate all HS&E incidents, near misses and hazard spots and follow up improvement actionsAdvise management in changing the HS&E culture and provide effective HS&E governance within the businessIt is expected that a HS&E Advisor leading HS&E for a business would need additional support and advice on developing priorities and actions from more senior HS&E colleagues and business leaders

Your Profile as a HSE Advisor:

HS&E Advisors should have (or be working towards):

· NEBOSH Diploma, relevant degree or equivalent and be at least GradIOSH

· IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) Practitioner level certificate, or relevant degree

· Relevant HS&E experience

· The individual should be computer literate.

About you:

The HS&E Advisor should be enthusiastic, show commitment and have a sense of urgency and passion for continual improvement and best practice in HS&E. They will be able to represent the business successfully with internal and external stakeholders, possibly with support from more senior colleagues. They will be influential with their peers and middle managers, but may need support to influence at senior level or externally.
