Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young lives? GSL Education Barnsley are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support to join a school in Barnsley, where you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome behavioural challenges and thrive in their educational journey.
As a Behaviour Support, you will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group Behaviour Support to students with challenging behaviours.
- Develop and implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Work closely with classroom teachers to support positive behaviour in the classroom.
- Monitor and record student behaviour, progress, and interventions.
- Assist in the development of individual behaviour plans and provide input for reviews.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, encouraging positive behaviour and social skills.
- Support students during transitions, breaks, and other unstructured times to maintain positive behaviour.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to ensure consistent Behaviour Support across the school.
Requirements:
- Experience in a Behaviour Support role or similar, preferably in a school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to handling challenging behaviour.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
