Are you passionate about reducing energy waste and improving efficiency in buildings, industrial processes, and communities? Do you have the skills to assess energy use, identify opportunities for savings, and implement strategies that reduce costs and environmental impact? If you’re ready to make a difference by helping organizations minimize their energy consumption, our client has the perfect opportunity for you. We’re looking for an Energy Efficiency Consultant (aka The Efficiency Architect) to analyze, optimize, and recommend solutions that enhance energy performance across various sectors.
As an Energy Efficiency Consultant at our client, you’ll work with facility managers, engineers, and sustainability leaders to identify energy inefficiencies and design tailored solutions. Whether it’s optimizing HVAC systems, implementing lighting upgrades, or advising on renewable energy integration, your work will help clients lower energy costs and reduce their carbon footprint, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Energy Audits and Assessments:
- Perform comprehensive energy audits for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, identifying areas where energy use can be reduced. You’ll evaluate HVAC, lighting, insulation, and equipment systems to detect inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Create customized energy efficiency plans that outline steps for improving energy performance, including equipment upgrades, operational changes, and renewable energy integration. You’ll work with clients to implement these plans and monitor results.
- Assess and design optimized solutions for HVAC, lighting, and electrical systems to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. You’ll recommend equipment upgrades, automation, and control systems that reduce energy consumption without compromising comfort or performance.
- Use data analysis to monitor energy use patterns and benchmark performance against industry standards. You’ll identify cost-saving opportunities, project potential savings, and track results to ensure goals are met.
- Keep up with the latest advancements in energy-efficient technologies, building codes, and regulatory standards. You’ll ensure that all recommendations align with current energy efficiency guidelines and support compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports that summarize audit findings, recommended strategies, and potential energy and cost savings. You’ll present insights and implementation plans to clients, providing clear, actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with clients to increase awareness about energy conservation best practices. You’ll provide training, resources, and ongoing support to help clients maintain energy-efficient operations long-term.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Energy Efficiency Expertise: Strong experience in energy audits, systems optimization, and efficiency strategies. You’re knowledgeable about HVAC systems, lighting, insulation, and control technologies that impact energy consumption.
- Analytical and Data Skills: Proficiency in data analysis for energy monitoring, with experience using tools like Excel, MATLAB, or energy management software. You’re skilled at analyzing energy data to identify patterns and savings opportunities.
- Knowledge of Energy Standards and Regulations: Familiarity with energy efficiency standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements, such as LEED, ASHRAE, and ENERGY STAR. You understand how to create compliance-friendly efficiency strategies.
- Project Management and Implementation: Experience managing projects from audit through implementation, including tracking progress, coordinating with teams, and ensuring successful completion of energy efficiency upgrades.
- Communication and Client Engagement: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and engage them in energy-saving initiatives. You’re adept at creating clear reports and presenting actionable insights.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Energy Engineering, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in energy efficiency or sustainability consulting is highly valued.
- Certifications in energy management or efficiency, such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or LEED accreditation, are advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in energy efficiency consulting or a similar role, with hands-on experience conducting audits and implementing efficiency improvements.
- Experience working with energy management systems, HVAC optimization, and lighting upgrades is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency incentives and rebate programs is a plus.
Benefits
- Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans with low co-pays and premiums.
- Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation, sick leave, and 20 paid holidays per year.
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible work schedules and telecommuting options.
- Professional Development: Opportunities for training, certification reimbursement, and career advancement programs.
- Wellness Programs: Access to wellness programs, including gym memberships, health screenings, and mental health resources.
- Life and Disability Insurance: Life insurance and short-term/long-term disability coverage.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Confidential counseling and support services for personal and professional challenges.
