SCP, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting for an innovative Transport Planner to join the team. This is a full time, permanent hybrid role and candidates must be commutable to the Edinburgh office. You will be joining a growing team, who cares greatly about the development, training and diversity of their growing workforce. 

SCP is a rapidly growing transport planning consultancy with an increasing need for support across a number of sectors, particularly energy and utilities. Our teams are involved in a significant proportion of major solar farms and wind farms across the UK that are driving the change to renewable energy sources across the country. We are also increasingly involved with the utilities sector, supporting the development of new reservoir infrastructure. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who have preferably gained experience of EIA and DCO projects. 

Responsibilities

  • To provide essential support for more senior personnel to ensure successful delivery of a commission; 
  • To provide expertise and assistance in the aspects of highway engineering and/or 
  • Transportation planning for which they have been trained; 
  • Liaise/meet with other consultants and external members of the project team where necessary to ensure co-ordination of information and resources; 
  • To have a full understanding of all the tools and techniques employed within the field of highway engineering and transportation planning; 
  • To be conversant with all local and national planning policies and guidelines insofar as they relate to transportation and development;

Person Specification

  • Experience of working on property, energy or environmental projects
  • Relevant degree, such as geography / engineering / planning (various are applicable) or MSc in Transport Planning or HND
  • Ability to use and interpret the results of Arcady, Picady, LINSIG, TRICS, AutoCAD and AutoTRACK
  • Ability to manage time and work to strict 
    deadlines.
