Are you an experienced General Foreperson looking for a new challenge? If so, we have an opportunity to work across a number of sites throughout the west of our region.

What you'll do

Our General Foreperson plays a vital role in managing our sites by ensuring that all construction activities are carried out efficiently and safely.

As the General Foreperson, you will report to the Construction Manager and will be responsible for supervising and directing staff and sub-contractors. You will maintain site health and safety, while also making sure environmental, quality and commercial procedures are followed.

Within this customer-facing role, as well as managing and maintaining customer needs and expectations, you will also need to ensure that work is carried out within budget while maintaining the high quality of service and standards that we are known for.

This is a busy role and day to day you will direct operations and work with subcontractors to improve methods of work on site and deliver toolbox talks or other training activities, as well as liaising with suppliers and members of the public.

You will be required to take part in a one-in-four standby rota.

What you'll need

We're looking for someone with a positive and can-do attitude who has great management and communication skills to get the best out of the whole team. 

You must share our culture of delivering a high quality service while working collaboratively with our customers and suppliers.

You will need good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications, as the role involves using our online systems for management, procurement and finance.

You will need experience:

supervising high volume, low element turnover and capital type works in the contracting industry in material and plant requisition and planning and programming activities managing a range of direct and subcontractor staff in a busy division

You will also have relevant knowledge of the water industry and proven leadership skills.

Due to the nature of this role holding a valid driving licence is essential. Access to a company vehicle will be provided along with tools, PPE and equipment.
