This involves developing best practice curricula, delivering excellent lectures and tutorials and designing and using innovative and rigorous assessment and feedback strategies.

Alongside you will have education-related administrative and pastoral duties, including for example as a Head of Year for our new BSc. You will be expected to regularly review your practice to keep it up to date with education pedagogy and to meet the changing needs of students, programme teams and the Business School. As a member of our collaborative community, we expect you to engage with our education strategy and help us enhance the experience of all our students.

• You will have a PhD in an economics subject (or equivalent experience).

• You will hold an appropriate teaching qualification or otherwise demonstrate your commitment to meeting professional standards in Higher Education, such as by holding a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or equivalent

• You will have experience designing and delivering teaching in economics, or related subjects, at university level.

• You will understand what is needed to design innovative and relevant curricula at module and programme level.

• You will be recognised for the quality of design and delivery of modules in your area of expertise, including coursework, feedback and assessment.

• You will have the interpersonal and administrative skills to take a departmental role such as Head of Year.

• You will care about the academic and wider pastoral needs of all students and have an interest in working with students and colleagues to enhance the curriculum or student experience and to support them on their education journey.

• You will have the ability to mentor junior colleagues, such as teaching assistants employed by the department.

• You will be an organised and collaborative colleague, able to juggle different responsibilities and deliver required outputs on time.

This is a full-time open-ended contract.
