We arelooking to recruit Nursing Associates to become part of our outstanding nursingteam at Cedars Ward, Teddington Memorial Hospital. The Cedars Ward provides 25bedded rehabilitation to inpatients providing 24-hour nursing care to adultsover 18 years of age.

Inorder to be successful you will have the following:

FoundationDegree in Nursing.

GCSE/Functionalskills in English & Maths level 2

TrainedNursing Associate Registered with the NMC.

Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards forpractice contained within The Code, and NMC Nursing Associate Standards ofProficiency.

Are reliable, hardworking, and resourceful.

Are strongly committed to multi-disciplinaryworking.

Job responsibilities

2. Job Purpose

Cedars at Grace Anderson Ward Community & In-Patient Services at Teddington Memorial Hospital providing 24 hour nursing and rehabilitation to adult patients.

The Nurse associate will work to a high standard and provide individualised evidence-based patient care under the guidance and support of a registered professional. He/she will take part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and rehabilitation as part of a multidisciplinary team and as delegated by a registered nurse.

3. Key Result Areas

Provide flexible cover to the ward

To participate in the assessment planning, implementation, evaluation of packages of care using evidence-based practice and as part of the multi- disciplinary team.

To administer medication in line with Your Healthcare Medicines Management policy

To communicate effectively during ward handover, ensuring that all relevant patient information is discussed and noted.

To maintain nursing records to a high standard, involving the patients in decisions about their care.

All staff to maintain high standards of Infection Prevention and Control and follow the agreed company policies and procedures.

To actively participate in team meetings, team development and service improvement as required.

To communicate effectively with patients and their relatives/carers, multi-disciplinary team colleagues and others.

To act as an effective role model for junior colleagues and to develop leadership skills.

To act as a facilitator for learners and more junior members of staff and to help maintain an effective learning environment.

To attend mandatory training sessions.

To continuously update professional practice.

To develop and maintain excellent clinical skills.

To participate in audit as required.

To organise own time effectively.

To ensure that incidents, accidents, drug errors and near miss events are reported according to policy.

To assist in the management and organisation of the ward as requested by the Ward Manager/Senior Nurse on duty.

To abide by the NMC Code of Conduct and other standards at all times.
