Special Needs Learning Support Assistants

 

 

Long-term Teachers are working with a selection of special schools in the Melksham area that have a number of TA/LSA vacancies available for September. These fantastic schools look after a range special needs & disabilities including ASD, Complex Needs, SLD, PMLD, MLD & SEMH.

 

The role of LSA is vital in these special schools and they are open to a range of applications, as long as you have experience working with special needs in some capacity (school experience is preferred. The schools would prefer staff that are available on a full-time basis as the students really require consistency.

 

 

Position Details:

  • Role: Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant
  • Start Date: September
  • Location: Melksham area
  • Contract: Full-time / Part-time
  • Salary: £90 - £98 day rate

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing the classroom teacher with support wherever they require it
  • Deescalating challenging situations
  • Help nurture and grow students providing them with an enjoyable school experience
  • Providing emotional support where necessary
  • Following safeguarding procedures to the letter

 

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEN children preferred
  • Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Strong team player - have a natural ease in communicating with others 
  • Passion for SEN education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
