Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service are looking for a Recovery Worker with a focus on criminal justice to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are an enthusiastic and creative individual and are passionate about changing people’s lives for the better, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Recovery Worker with a criminal justice specialism you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners. 

This position is full time and permanent with a salary of £24,564 per annum. Please note a driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred to undertake this role.

Required Skills

You will work as part of a team with the aims of:

understanding your clients  keeping them safe creating a plan they can achieve with your support checking in with them and reviewing their progress keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery  continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care

Ideally you will have experience of working in a criminal justice, health social care and/or substance misuse setting. We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people and in different settings. You will also be results driven, highly organised with excellent time management skills.
