The Court of Protection solicitorwill be responsible for providing legal advice and representationto clients involved in matters related to mental capacity anddecisionmaking. The solicitor will handle cases within the Court ofProtection advocating for individuals who lack capacity and requireassistance in their personal and financialaffairs.

KeyResponsibilities:

  1. ClientRepresentation:

    • Representclients in the Court of Protection in matters related to healthwelfare and financialdecisions.
    • Provide legal advice andguidance to clients and their families regarding mental capacityissues.

  2. CaseManagement:

    • Manage acaseload of Court of Protection cases ensuring all aspects of thelegal process are handledeffectively.
    • Draft legal documentsincluding applications witness statements and courtsubmissions.

  3. LegalResearch andCompliance:

    • Stay abreast ofchanges in legislation and case law related to mental capacity andCourt of Protection matters.
    • Ensurecompliance with legal and ethical standards in all aspects ofclientrepresentation.

  4. ClientCommunication:

    • Communicateeffectively with clients keeping them informed about the progressof their case and explaining legal matters in a clear andunderstandablemanner.

  5. Collaboration:

    • Workclosely with other legal professionals healthcare professionals andrelevant authorities to ensure comprehensive support forclients.
    • Collaborate with the legalteam to share knowledge and expertise in Court of Protectionmatters.

  6. Advocacy:

    • Attendcourt hearings and represent clients effectively in the Court ofProtection.
    • Advocate for the bestinterests of clients who lack mentalcapacity.
  7. Rolecan be based in Manchester London BasingstokeLiverpool.


Requirements
  • Qualifiedsolicitor with a valid practicingcertificate.
  • Experiencein Court of Protection work with a strong understanding of mentalcapacityissues.
  • Excellentcommunication and interpersonalskills.
  • Stronganalytical and researchskills.
  • Abilityto work independently and as part of ateam.
  • Highlevel of professionalism and ethicalstandards.
  • NQGrade ASolicitor


Qualified solicitor with a valid practicing certificate. Experiencein Court of Protection work, with a strong understanding of mentalcapacity issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and research skills. Ability to workindependently and as part of a team. High level of professionalismand ethical standards. NQ - Grade A Solicitor
