Previous experience of product lifecycles, systems design, system modelling and analysis, requirements management, test and acceptance and/or production and support would be beneficial. A technical background in at least one of the following areas being highly desirable; Sonar/seismic arrays Sensor data and signal processing, cabling and telemetry Real time systems, decision support systems, and their infrastructure Towed array and cable handling systems Weapon and Countermeasure systems Noise, vibration and electromagnetic data gathering, analysis, and management Acoustic and RF systems Industrial automation and control systems Safety systems Physical and system modelling and simulation Future submarine design concepts and technologies
Familiarity with the UK Submarine Enterprise is not a necessity and applications from outside the domain are encouraged. Candidates with knowledge of the workings of the Ministry of Defence may have the opportunity to spend time embedded within collaborative MOD/industry teams working within the Bristol area.
For those interested in a change of industry, familiarisation and support in gaining domain knowledge will be provided. Candidates are expected to be effective communicators, with experience of technical report writing and involvement in the preparation of customer proposals.
They will be able to quickly establish productive working relationships with customers, military staff and other stakeholders.
