Working Part Time: 33 Hours per Week

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Therapy Assistant within our inpatient therapy team.

Our team provides therapy to medical and surgical patients at the Countess of Chester Hospital. You will be working on inpatient wards in a fast-paced environment alongside an experienced therapy team. The role may include going out to patient’s homes or visiting other settings if indicated. The role includes working closely with our Multidisciplinary team to ensure we achieve best patient care.

You will work with Physiotherapists and Occupational providing rehabilitation programmes and enabling patients to be discharged from hospital as soon as possible. 

Effective communication, adaptability to rapidly changing work plans and team working skills are essential for this post. We offer a friendly and supportive environment for learning alongside in service training and opportunities to further develop your career.

Main duties of the job

The Therapies and Integrated Community Care Division have a Practice Development Therapist who supports the department with learning and development activities. We offer an apprenticeship programme as part of our staff career pathway, offering a supportive and nurturing environment for our unregistered staff with an interest and passion to progress towards becoming a registered health professional. 

The post is varied, and the post holder will need be able to work under their own initiative with supervision from the therapy team. Main duties of the job include to provide support to the therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients and to implement prescribed therapy programmes.

You will be a positive individual with a can-do attitude who can learn and adapt quickly and is flexible. 

Comprehensive training will be provided for all aspects of the work expected by the post holder.

This post requires an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.

You will be expected to work weekends and Bank holidays on a rota basis.
