Weare in search of a diligent and experienced Criminal Solicitor toenhance our team. The role involves providing expert legal advicerepresentation and support to clients maintaining the higheststandards of professional conduct and client care. Responsibilitiesinclude handling various criminal matters such as defence incriminal trials bail applications police station representation andgeneral criminal lawmatters.

GeneralResponsibilities:

  • Adherenceto SRA regulatory requirements and industry bestpractices.
  • Maintainingstrict confidentiality and datasecurity.
  • Deliveringhighlevel service across all areas of theGroup.
  • Demonstratingclear and courteous communication with internal and externalstakeholders.
  • Compliancewith procedures outlined in the OfficeManual.
  • Providingadditional support to other departments for example crossreferral

JobSpecificTasks:

  • Independentcasemanagement.
  • Conductinglegal research and casepreparation.
  • Managingcourt proceedings and all facets of criminal litigation includingdisclosure and drafting witnessstatements.
  • Attendingclient meetings hearings and court sessions to liaise with variousparties.
  • Representingclients at police stations magistrates courts and crowncourts.
  • Participatingin plea negotiations pretrial hearings andtrials.
  • Managingcorrespondence and client inquiries effectively managing clientexpectations.
  • Providingwritten advice to clients asnecessary.
  • Producingdocuments obtaining expert reports and issuinginstructions.
  • Meetingchargeable time and financial targets set by the Head ofDepartment.
  • Keepingupdated with changes in laws andprocedures.
  • Filemanagement administration and timerecording.
  • Managingongoing Continuing Professional Development(CPD).

Experience:

  • Essentialexperience in CriminalLaw.
  • 1Years PQE isdesirable.
  • Experienceworking with vulnerable clients resolving issues and handlingdifficultconversations.
  • Proficiencyin Case Managementsystems.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office andOutlook.
