You’ll play a vital part in contributing to a positive health and safety culture and ensuring regulatory requirements are met across all our sites.

Key responsibilities :

  • You’ll work closely with the Head of Fire Health and Safety on the development of Health and Safety policies, procedures and training, as well as promoting a positive Health and Safety culture.
  • You’ll lead on comprehensive audits, and work with managers to implement tailored recommendations.
  • Taking a lead on regular reporting, you’ll bring forward insights and trends to inform senior leadership and drive improvements.
  • You’ll oversee the work of the team and foster the growth and development of the Health and Safety Advisor, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • With a strong knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations you will act as the Principal Designer for small to medium-sized projects and event builds, working with contractors to ensure legislative compliance.
  • You’ll be confident in making day-to-day operational decisions, will support the development of strategic plans and will deputise for the Head of Fire, Health, and Safety in their absence.
About you

Essential Criteria:

  • Possess a recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma Level 6 in OHS or a BSc in Occupational Safety and Health, and demonstrate substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Hold membership at an appropriate level with a recognised professional body, like Chartered Member or Fellow of IOSH.
  • Strong knowledge in building and fire safety regulations, particularly within historic or listed buildings, showcasing expertise in compliance.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing and developing team members,
  • Adept communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, ensuring efficient execution of responsibilities in a busy environment.
  • A good working knowledge of Building Regulations and Fire Safety Legislation
