This is a fixed term position of 6 months.

This is a fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern for this position is Monday-Friday, 0830-1630.

The Respiratory Physiology Service provides routine & specialized services to the population of Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

The post holder will be required to:

perform basic diagnostic investigations, sterilization of equipment general administrative duties for the respiratory laboratories within GGCHB.

The post holder must be able to travel to sites across GG&C to provide diagnostic tests on a rotational basis.

Minimum Qualifications

5 Standard Grades (Preferably Science/Maths) Excellent communication skills Completion of in house training program (6mths) and attainment of professional body (Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology) certificate in Spirometry to allow performing basic investigations without direct supervision. Knowledge of departmental sterilization protocols to be attained over 3mth induction period. Basic keyboard skills Knowledge of basic software packages (e.g. Microsoft word)

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
