Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans and behaviour management strategies
  • Support students in their academic and social development
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEN and SEMH
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
  • Relevant training or certification in Special Educational Needs is desirable

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to support students with diverse needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN and SEMH conditions and their impact on learning
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet individual student needs
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education qualifications in Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Training in safeguarding and child protection

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school setting
  • May involve some physical activity and lifting
  • Full-time hours, temporary position
