Associated Seafoods is the parent company of Lossie Seafoods, Moray Seafoods and LFO. We strive to source, process, and supply the finest range of seafood products to customers around the world.
Job Summary:
We are in search of a dynamic and dedicated Quality Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing and enhancing our site's quality management system, ensuring our products meet all statutory, safety, and quality standards. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Uphold and communicate the site's HACCP plan across the business to ensure adherence to customer and legal standards.
Manage and perform CCP validation studies regularly to maintain compliance with legal and customer requirements.
Direct and supervise the daily operations of the QA department, ensuring due diligence at all times.
Train the QA team to understand and comply with food safety policies and procedures, promoting continuous improvement.
Work with Technical Manager to establish and track department KPIs, driving continuous improvement.
Oversee the collection, auditing, and archiving of food production process paperwork to ensure due diligence and a comprehensive understanding of the site's traceability system.
Manage Quality Contracts, Quality Attribute Sheets, and factory specifications, collaborating with the operations team to ensure compliance with customer requirements and agreed finished product standards.
Conduct post-hygiene audits and manage an effective environmental monitoring program to uphold hygiene standards and meet legal and customer requirements.
Investigate customer complaints through detailed root cause analysis, providing findings directly to customers to prevent recurrence and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Participate in third-party audits as part of the site supplier approval and monitoring system to ensure compliance with customer requirements and facilitate due diligence.
To be a key member of the site TACCP and VACCP teams
Perform other tasks as requested by the Technical department.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in a relevant scientific discipline is preferred.
Proven capability within a Quality Management role or similar.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels within the organisation.
Familiarity with technical systems, including factory policies, procedures, work instructions, and records.
Comprehensive understanding of BRC and retailer requirements, particularly M&S.
Comprehensive understanding and experience of QMS, Microbiological Standards, HACCP, Food hygiene and Allergens
Internal auditor training.
HACCP training.
Food hygiene training.
Experience in food manufacturing, preferably in a high-care environment (ideal but not essential).
Logical approach, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
Proficient IT skills.
