**Location**:Arbroath **Shift Pattern**: Monday to Friday, 04:30 - 13:00, 40 hrs per week with some flexibility required

**Job Overview**:
As a QA you would be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the sites quality management system within the food processing factory to ensure the safety, legality and quality of the product are adhered to and meet customer requirements. The role plays crucial part in ensuring that customer specifications, quality manual and procedures, record keeping, and hygiene standards are communicated to and understood throughout the factory while assisting operations team in meeting them.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collate, audit and archive production process paperwork, including CCP records, ensuring document control is correct and quality standards are maintained throughout the factory through routine checks of factory production.
- Understand "What makes the product safe" and conduct daily Critical Control Point verification testing i.e., salt in aqueous phase testing.
- Send customer CoA's where applicable and conduct positive release where necessary.
- Auditing, Checks and sampling.
- Conduct and prepare taste panels.
- Take ownership of the factory management of Quality Contracts and Quality Attribute Sheets to ensure they are up to date and work closely with the operation team to ensure compliance.
- Issue, report & document non-conformances ensuring that full root cause analysis is carried out and that effective correction actions have been completed within an appropriate timeframe.
- Assist the department/factory in preparing for customer visits/audits.
- Assist factory trials where applicable.
- To perform tasks that are of a reasonable request in line with the Technical department.
- Take part in given Internal and External training to ensure a full understanding of job role and impact on food safety and integrity.

**Needs to have or be willing to learn/undertake training**:

- Knowledge of EU and Global Food Safety Standards and Legislation
- Knowledge of Food Hygiene Standards
- Knowledge of Customer Technical Standards in a food-manufacturing environment
- Understanding of Health & Safety

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Food manufacturing related experience in high care environment desired but not essential.
- Auditing experience desired but not essential.
- Flexibility towards working hours including shift work.
- Be able to communicate between all levels of staff within the business.
- Attention to detail
- Good time management skills
- Computer literate
