This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trusts plans to build new hospitals. With an award-winning, multi-disciplinary Programme Team and as one of the largest new hospital projects in the UK, the Trusts Programme Team combines clinical and design expertise, construction/project management excellence, and specialist roles. It works in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with responsibility for the planning, design, construction and delivery of the new hospital.

We are looking for new talent and specifically a Business & Operational Change Practitioner with experience in managing and delivering operational change in a healthcare environment. The postholder will support the collation, administration and management of the overarching Change Management and Transformation Plan for the Hospitals of the Future Project and the mapping and development of the new clinical and non-clinical models and processes required.

The role should be considered an on-site role with the opportunity to take advantage from the Trusts flexible working policies. The role shall be required to work from any of the Trusts premises, although is expected to be predominantly based at the LGI site or nearby premises. The role shall involve travel as and where necessary.

Main duties of the job

The primary responsibility of the post will be supporting the BtLW Business & Operational Change Lead to create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximise the opportunity from the planned Hospitals of the Future investment

The main focus of this role is the collation, administration and management of the programmes overarching Change Management and Transformation Plans and the mapping and development of the new clinical and non-clinical models and processes required. It is expected that this will include the changes necessary to clinical and non-clinical service configuration, models of care, patient pathways and processes, and digital systems and technology. This may involve supporting the development of new patient and non-patient flows and/or the drafting of new procedures and processes and digital systems and technology.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including members of the BtLW Programme Team such as Senior Project Managers and BtLW Workstream Leads along with colleagues across the Trust in Clinical Service Units (CSUs) and Corporate Teams.

Candidates will have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills and be able to demonstrate a proven ability to support and deliver change management initiatives and support clinical service transition to new facilities and new ways of working.

Job responsibilities

Reporting to the BtLW Business & Operational Change Lead the role involves, where agreed, taking the lead in the development and implementation of specific business change activities working alongside and supporting Clinical and non-Clinical Service Units and working closely with BtLW Programme Team members.

The business change plans/activities shall support the transition to new healthcare facilities and the development and implantation of new patient-focused business processes and systems that, where appropriate, are digitally based.

The postholder will support and facilitate senior operational and clinical managers to identify the change required, aligned to redesign of business and operational services and patient processes.

The postholder will have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills with a commitment to supporting change and continuous improvement and delivering change objectives.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience. Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.

Desirable

Postgraduate qualification to Masters level or equivalent. Business Change Management Qualification or similar.

Experience

Essential

Experience of being involved in the development and implementation of complex change management programmes involving multiple stakeholders. Leading change management workstreams/sub-projects within wider change management projects/programmes. Proven ability to support and deliver change management initiatives and support clinical services transition to new facilities and new ways of working. Experience of meeting key timescales and ensuring outputs and deliverables are of a high-quality standard.

Desirable

NHS experience in a change management environment.
