Lincoln, United Kingdom United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Full time

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen for a highly motivated pharmacist to join our friendly Research Pharmacy Team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT). The post holder will be a part of the Pharmacy Department and the Research and Innovation team.

Our Pharmacy Department have a good integrated team of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Support Workers.

R&I department is a proactive and forward looking department working in partnership with University of Lincoln and East Midlands Clinical Research Network to support the delivery of clinical research within ULHT.

The successful candidate will support clinical trials service with existing and upcoming new studies, in a variety of clinical specialties and contribute to the service's development and expansion.

As an individual, you will need to apply your clinical knowledge, analytical eye and practical experience to deliver safe investigational treatments to our patients. You must be keen to learn, able to interpret complex information, and communicate it effectively. We would expect this role to develop you and for you to use the experience to develop others.

Significant post qualification experience in hospital pharmacy or clinical trials would be expected. Full training and support will be given, however you must be committed to continuing professional development.

The post will be based at Lincoln County Hospital but the successful candidate may need to travel to other sites within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will be involved in the set-up of new trial projects, whilst also supporting the delivery of existing trials. You will therefore be required to demonstrate good organisational skills, be able to work independently and as part of the wider team.

You will need to collaborate effectively with a wide range of Trust staff - local investigators, researchers, nursing, administrative and pharmacy staff. You will also represent the team, the department and the Trust when engaging with pharmaceutical companies and their partner organisations, so a professional nature is required.

Experience of writing policies and standard operating procedures would be advantageous.

Attention to detail and a meticulous nature are prime requisite, for future therapies are determined by the accuracy of the data we collect today.
