Our client, a pioneering blockchain company specializing in zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology, is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead their technical team. Responsibilities:

  • Technical Strategy: Develop and execute the company's technical roadmap, aligning with business objectives and market trends, with a specific focus on zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology and its applications in blockchain systems.
  • Research and Development: Lead the research and development (R&D) efforts in ZKP protocols, cryptographic primitives, and related areas, collaborating with internal teams, academic partners, and industry experts to advance state-of-the-art solutions.
  • Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of innovative blockchain products and platforms leveraging ZKP technology, ensuring scalability, security, and usability.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a world-class technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, and empowering team members to achieve excellence in their respective roles.
  • Technical Architecture: Define the technical architecture and design principles for ZKP-based blockchain solutions, optimising for performance, interoperability, and extensibility while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify strategic partnerships and collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry consortia to advance ZKP research and promote adoption across various sectors.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry standards related to privacy and data protection, and ensure that the company's products and protocols comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the company as a thought leader in the blockchain and cryptography communities through participation in conferences, seminars, and technical forums, and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge through publications and whitepapers.

Requirements Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cryptography, or a related field, with a focus on zero-knowledge proofs, cryptographic protocols, or distributed systems.
  • Proven leadership experience in a technical role, preferably as a CTO, technical director, or senior research scientist, with a track record of leading successful R&D projects and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Deep understanding of zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) protocols, such as zk-SNARKs, zk-STARKs, or Bulletproofs, and their applications in blockchain privacy, scalability, and interoperability.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in blockchain development, such as Solidity, Rust, or Go, with the ability to architect and implement complex systems from scratch.
  • Experience in building and scaling distributed systems, blockchain platforms, or cryptographic protocols, with a strong grasp of network security, consensus algorithms, and fault tolerance mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable plans and to drive innovation while balancing technical feasibility with business objectives.
  • Passion for blockchain technology, cryptography, and decentralised systems, with a commitment to advancing the state of the art and making a positive impact on society.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the blockchain industry, particularly in the development of privacy-preserving applications, decentralised finance (DeFi) platforms, or enterprise blockchain solutions.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or academic research in zero-knowledge proofs, cryptographic protocols, or related fields, with a demonstrated track record of publications or patents.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to blockchain technology, privacy-enhancing technologies, and financial services.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in startup environments or fast-paced technology companies, including experience in fundraising, business development, or go-to-market strategy.
