Role Summary

As a Nursing Associate you’ll be responsible for delivering effective, specialised high quality care, carrying out specific clinical tasks. You will be working in a dynamic, friendly team, providing care for patients attending the Oncology and Haematology day case units.

The Nursing Associate role includes assisting with preparing patients for their treatment (chemotherapy and Immunotherapy) whilst working under the supervision and support of a qualified Nurse or above. There is also opportunity to work with our Haematology stem cell team in supporting patients that are due to have stem cell transplants.

There are opportunities to develop further clinical skills in cannulation, venesections and administration of supportive medications required before treatment.

You will ensure there is good stock control methods, excellent infection control and cleanliness of the department, improving patient experience and patient safety to offer an excellent service to our patients.

Working Pattern:  hours per week, mainly week day working but some weekend working when required.
