IT Hardware Technician

Do you have two years of extensive experience in IT hardware support? A proven track record in building and deploying mobile devices and laptops? Can you competently configure and install switches, routers, and other IT equipment? Do you have a sound understanding of IT hardware and software basics? If so, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for you to join our Information Technology team as an IT Hardware Technician.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of IT, you will manage the lifecycle of IT assets within the department. This includes maintaining records and databases for licences, warranties, and service agreements for all hardware and software.
You will also support the IT delivery function in configuring and deploying IT assets, managing stock levels, and supporting related procurement and deployment activities. A valid UK Driver's Licence is required as extensive travel will be part of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Support/Setup:
- Manage stock levels of IT equipment to ensure availability for requests.
- Build/provision IT equipment for request fulfilment.
- Build and install equipment for our developments.
- Perform software installations, setup, updates, fault-finding, and resolutions.
Asset Management:
- Procure and raise orders for assets and maintain relationships with 3rd parties.
- Maintain and update inventory records of all IT assets.
Development Connectivity and Report Generation:
- Manage broadband accounts (procurement, amendments, migrations, closures).
- Liaise with Site Personnel to establish site readiness.
- Run regular management reports, summarising and interpreting data.
Location: This role is based at our Bournemouth Head Office, with the expectation of travel to our sites.

Your Attributes:
- At least 2 years’ experience in configuring and installing routers, switches, and access points.
- Demonstrated practical skills relevant to the role.
- Methodical and accurate.
- Confident in interactions with colleagues in own team and beyond.
- High degree of personal integrity.
- Able to work for extended periods with regular breaks in front of a computer screen.
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment safely.
