The Software Delivery Manager will align the product team activity to the business and commercial strategies. Work with the Project Managers, Product leads and Senior Developers to create deliveries of value adding software-based solutions on the principles of agile delivery and the theory of constraints.

This is a key role for the business as it will influence the roadmaps across all of the SNAP product streams and ensure that value is being delivered against each. It is vital that delivery plans take into consideration the completion of the removal of legacy software as well as the constant need to assess, re-enforce and be pro-active in the space of cyber security.

The Software Delivery Manager will ensure the throughput of the software squads working with the teams to improve software delivery process and practice. It is important that this is done in a collaborative way. Each software product squad must be given autonomy to function as a self-managing delivery team within the boundaries of overall KPI metrics to be introduced by the Software Delivery Manager.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Line management for a team of Software Developers, ensuring engagement and personal development of the technical staff involved is always maintained.
  • Rotations of Developers through the various product squads to ensure knowledge of the products is shared throughout the team.
  • Encourage and foster a sense of autonomy within the product squads, allowing Senior Developers and Product Leads to lead and squads to self-manage with a clear oversight.
  • Recognise the role teamwork plays in SNAP Account's success and contribute through active enthusiasm, cooperation, and flexibility.
  • Ensure the effective line management of the Software Developers, taking time to understand the nature of their work and treating them as individuals.

Other skills and experience required:

  • Has quantifiable experience gained in an appropriate role, with experience in the logistics industry being advantageous.
  • Display core knowledge of the end-to-end software product implementation cycle for successful project delivery enablement through self and teams.
  • Is a strong communicator, comfortable in presenting complex ideas and concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to make complex ideas and concepts relatable to stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the theory of constraints would be an advantage but not essential. A willingness to learn the theory of constraints is essential.
  • Has a full, clean driving license in the designated country with the willingness to undertake country-wide travel and overnight stays where required for the proper performance of the role to be carried out.
  • Valid passport that allows travel across Europe and to the UK when required.
  • A degree in a business or information technology related discipline or the equivalent would be advantageous but is not critical.
  • Understands and can consistently apply the principles of Lean.
  • Ability to lead workshops comprising all types of stakeholders and adjust material to the audience accordingly.
  • Empathetic and team focused, puts the welfare of others ahead of outcome and personal ambition.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM, SharePoint and other relevant electronic digital portal proficiency.
  • Advanced communication (written and oral) techniques used across various forums.
