Art Specialist

Recent graduate wondering what to do with your degree?

You have plenty of transferable skills that you can bring from your Art degree that you can apply within the classroom; teamwork, dedication, resilience, motivation, communication and of course, creativity – these are all essential when working with children and young people in schools

Art is a great tool that can be used within schools to help students therapeutically or for focus. Using your creativity, you can help support students’ engagement and attitude towards their learning.

At Protocol Education, we work with a number of schools in and around Bristol, to place creative educators (you) that can inspire and engage students with 'out-the-box' ways of thinking, which in turn fosters' genuine love for learning.

 

Role: Art Specialist

Start Date: Tuesday 25th June 2024

You in the role:

  • Encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Be a flexible, fun and energetic person who fosters a love of learning.
  • Share and support the school’s responsibility to provide opportunities for personal and academic growth.
  • Can demonstrate effective communication and collaborative skills and bring enthusiasm to the role.
  • Motivate pupils with passionate and imaginative presentation.
  • Creative and a ‘think outside the box’ approach.
  • Open minded and flexible to work with a variety of students with various needs.

Roles available:

  • Class teacher – depending on qualifications (QTS needed)
  • Cover supervisor/unqualified teacher – (no qualifications needed)
  • Mentor
  • Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Youth Worker
  • Art therapy within SEN schools

 

  • Qualifications and Experience: (Desirable but not essential)
  • Any previous teaching/youth work experience or any relevant experience working with young people.
  • Any relevant qualifications.
  • Teaching.
  • Safeguarding.
  • First Aid.
  • Youth work.
  • Understanding of National Curriculum.
