Mary Ann Hospice is a local community hospicecovering the North Warwickshire area, based in Nuneaton, whose aim is toprovide specialised care, support and advice to patients living with a lifelimiting illness. and those that matter most to them.
The Family Support and Bereavement teamoffer listening support for people who are bereaved or require pre-bereavement supportthrough one to one and group sessions.
We are currently looking to recruit a Part-Time(, Monday-Wednesday Family Support and Bereavement Senior Practitioner to join ourexcellent team at Mary Ann Evans Hospice which has recently been rated Goodby CQC. We are looking for a qualified, compassionate, creative, and skilfulpractitioner who can join us in bringing much needed support to adults, children,and young people.

Main duties of the job
Working as a Senior Practitioner within theFamily Support and Bereavement Team, supporting a caseload of adults who requirelistening support with a bereavement or imminentdeath of a loved one using a person-centred approach. To work closely with theFamily Support and Bereavement team, including volunteers, to assist with theassessment and therapeutic support of clients and the management of theservice. Work with the Team Lead and other colleagues across the Hospice toadvocate and develop emotional support provision.

Job responsibilities
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Client work:
Providingone to one emotional support sessions for adults who requiresupport with a bereavement or pre-bereavement (they or a loved one have a lifelimiting illness) utilising a person-centred approach.
Using ablended approach to the delivery of emotional support sessions over the phone,in person or online.
Creating,developing, and facilitating group support sessions for adults and children.
Assessingnew clients to understand their needs and allocate them to the most suitablesupport service.
Providingongoing supervision and training to volunteers.
Arranging and receiving regular external supervision (no costs incurred).
Administration :
Assistthe Family Support and Bereavement Services Team Lead in ensuring all relevantdata is collated, analysed, and distributed as required.
Assistwith the development of the Family Support and Bereavement Services team inensuring the service stays sustainable, efficient, and safe and adheres to theHospice Mission Statement, Visions and Aims as well as CQC requirements.
Writingand delivering training to staff, volunteers and other health and social careprofessionals.
Beresponsible for supporting and coordinating of volunteers.
Administrationof data.
Administrationof client files.
General:
Providecover/substitute for the Team Lead at leadership/Board committee meetings.
Confidentialityof patients, staff, volunteers, and visitors is paramount and an attitudesensitive to our service is of great importance.
Knowledgeof safeguarding for adults, children and vulnerable adults legal requirements areessential.
To bewilling to undertake other duties appropriate to this post.

Abideby all Mary Ann Policies and Procedures including Child Protection andSafeguarding.
Toattend all Mary Ann mandatory and statutory training.
Promoteand publicise holistically Mary Ann's core services.
Workwith other Mary Ann teams in raising awareness within the community aboutthe services provided.
Toparticipate in an annual appraisal and quarterly reviews, where the jobdescription is subject to periodic review as service requirements change.
TheMary Ann Evans Hospice operates a strictly no smoking/vaping policy whilst on duty.

Travelin the Warwickshire area, and on occasions within the UK, to fulfil role andattend/participate in training and personal development opportunities, usingown vehicle or public transport, for which expenses will be met in line withpolicies.
Tomaintain an effective and collaborative working relationship with other membersof staff and volunteers.
Toparticipate in annual and quarterly performance appraisal, where the jobdescription will be reviewed, and objectives agreed.
Takeresponsibility for ensuring the timely completion and/or attendance for allstatutory and mandatory training requirements relevant to role as outlined byMary Anns Policy.
Toparticipate in surveys and audits as required by the service in relation toyour role.
Conformto conventional standards of professional uniform and business dress whenrepresenting Mary Ann.
Toaccept temporary redeployment within any part of Mary Ann should the need ariseensuring hospice goals and objectives are met.

Experience
Essential
Experience of working with adults and children in a health, social, therapeutic or education setting. An interest in bereavement support theory and practice.
Desirable
Experience of working with adults/children who require support following a bereavement. Experience of working in a Hospice or palliative care setting. Experience in providing supervision. Experience of working with volunteers.

Qualifications
Essential
Qualified and experienced regulated and registered Health, Social Care or Education professional counsellor, nurse, psychologist, social worker, chaplain, occupational therapist, teacher etc.

Evidence of further study/CPD in area of interest during past 2 years Level 2 or 3 counselling qualification
