We have a great opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our team reporting to the Keelings UK MD and working closely with the UK Senior Leadership team, this role will provide financial oversight and direction for Keelings UK. This roles involves driving financial controls, ensuring information is accurate and on time, driving profit and cost initiatives across the company to ensure we are competitive and achieving required returns on investment. It also involves supporting the Strategy for the company.

 

Part of the UK Senior Leadership team, managing a finance team, the FC will apply financial acumen to define and roll out the strategy in the UK, while ensuring their team provides financial support and analysis to the UK Business Unit and preparing the BUs management accounts, internal controls & timely reporting to the Group Finance.


The role also entails ensuring design, updating, and explaining financial dashboards to the UK sales & commercial team. This includes analysing and explaining variances vs prior periods & budgets and supporting the team in their financial forecast, adhering to the Keelings IBP strategy through insights and positive criticism. Helping to build business cases and more generally can be a sounding board for ideas, initiatives, challenges coming from the business.


Key role and responsibilities


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • As part of the UK Senior leadership team, leads strategic projects by providing the key financials
  • Work closely with the sales & commercial team in implementing their commercial and business development strategy.
  • Work closely with the Group Operations Director and the Group Supply Chain Director to identify profitable opportunities & cost optimizations
  • Manage key projects as they arise ensuring key resources are in place and driving the team to complete projects.
  • Lead on operational system development bridging between business requirements and systems development on KBS. Also drive for system compliance across the various functions.
  • Review the UK weekly accounts prepared by the analyst and prepare management accounts.
  • Design, update and maintain financial performance dashboards for the benefit of the business.
  • Assist the business in building detailed and accurate budgets & forecasts, analysing and explaining variances.
  • Drives bi-monthly category and customer reviews, allowing the procurement & sales team to have a longer view of their financial performance.
