The Role

As the Infrastructure Project Manager, you will ensure the Customer’s requirements are achieved through integration of all of projects, maintaining high accuracy of delivery, cost, and quality. Working with the Infrastructure Head of Delivery, you will be responsible for managing a team of Project Leads, integrate critical infrastructure projects, and be accountable for the success of Control Accounts. 

The opportunity will allow you to be a key stakeholder in setting annual and long terms priorities for Infrastructure, with accountability for Programme budget, and on time delivery. You will provide direct reporting into the Customer organisation, maintaining and developing our relationship that we are trusted to deliver excellence.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity your main responsibilities will include:

To act as Intelligent Client in-line with industry best-practice, delivering multiple “Intermediate” size (c.£50k - £5m value) Infrastructure projects, ensuring the right balance of quality, cost, delivery, and governance are applied. Rigorously challenge thinking to drive pragmatism and simplicity into the projects to minimise cost and lead-time and optimise deliverability Developing and implementing the Programme delivery strategy. You will define and acquire the means to achieve the Programme requirements, delivering high quality project outcomes on time, and to budget. You will integrate all project work across control accounts to deliver the Programme objectives, managing risk at Programme level. Establish, develop, and maintain documentation to deliver the requirements of the Programme, and ensure the full scope is delivered through all associated projects and work packages; this will include integrated project artefacts, such as management plans, schedules, trackers, etc. providing information and recommendations as necessary to make management decisions in a timely manner with the key stakeholders. Work with the Design Authority, Procurement, IT, HSE, Buildings & Infrastructure and other functions to deliver an integrated team approach to all Infrastructure Investments. Delegated responsibilities on behalf of the Head of Delivery, including but not limited to; attendance at sentencing & change boards, assurance of project governance, creation & reviewing of business cases, and leading or participating in the Monthly Internal Project Reviews for the Infrastructure Futures Tranche Line management of Infrastructure project leads and controllers, recruitment, and the development of new recruits and succession planning Monitor the quality of the design and development of the infrastructure investments, ensuring the project team delivers in accordance with the RRSL Design Review Gated Process and Rolls-Royce Facility Project Model requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

Have experience in all stages of a project lifecycle and experience of working in multi-functional teams, with a track record in delivering one or more of the stages following a recognised project governance model You will have strong leadership, diplomacy, interpersonal relationship, and people management skills. You will be able to share the techniques and approaches that you have used in a range of collaborative and adversarial situations, both in individual and team environments and with external parties to deliver results. You have led or project managed multiple projects of varying sizes, complexities, and locations at the same time, with challenging logistical and constructability considerations to ensure minimum interruption to the affected business units or functions making complex trade-off decisions between competing priorities, quality, cost, and delivery demands/constraints.  You will have strong finance and commercial skills and are likely to be able to share multiple examples of substantial commercial negotiations or disputes that you have played a central role in. Able to complete a Project Management skills assessment, which provides a quantified assessment of your knowledge & experience in the areas listed above. Qualified to at least degree level or equivalent industry experience preferably in an engineering, construction, or project management discipline. Be a member of a professional body and working towards ChPP qualification, or equivalent.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
