Job purpose
The primary function of this role is to lead, manage & develop the Engineering team to deliver an effective preventative maintenance system that ensures minimal breakdown time. To ensure that equipment & premises are maintained to auditable standards & to promote asset & premises care at all levels.
Pre- Requisite Responsibilities

Ensuring all products produced and dispatched are compliant with Food Safety Regulations
Ensuring that all activities managed in line with external audit standards (BRC ) and or customer specifications

General Responsibilities
To maintain an effective workplace, you must lead & drive your team to improve the following
Ensure that Safety (Food & People) is an absolute priority for your Team & any contractors while designing & completing works
Ensure that you 'People' are encouraged & that your Teams work scheduling is effective & efficient with regular feedback given through structured & standardized 1 to 1's 1s to upskill, educate & drive the teams' skills & work effectiveness
Ensure that the Engineering Team are consistently abiding by Quality Standards & Protocols (& contractors) & use initiatives to help improve quality standards from people to premises & equipment & product.
Ensure that you budget appropriately using factual data & equipment knowledge
Ensure that you appropriately research contracted services/ new equipment tenders etc. to ensure that that quotations are competitive
Ensure that you & your team lead the site with respect to resource conservation & environmental impacts
Ensure that you continually verify the effectiveness of work completion
Ensure that staff & contractors practice safe work with permits & safety statements where required
Ensure that there is a robust PM system which is effectively operated & managed for the entire site
Ensure that the site is adapted & maintained to facilitate safety & quality standards are continually maintained
To educate others on optimal resource utilization & to drive & encourage cost saving initiatives amongst own team & cross functionally
To practice an effective Contractor Management Program
To continually promote future capacity planning & to ensure that any new initiatives consider same
To educate & promote optimal asset care at operator level
To communicate effectively with area owners on a routine basis, in a structured format with a view to aligning on common goals to drive joint improvement initiatives in the area without bias.
