Job responsibilities
PrincipalDuties
Operatingthe administrative functions of the practices telephone booking systems.
Dealwith incoming telephone calls and act upon each appropriately offer andbook an appropriate appointment, refer for further clinical advice.
Frontof house, welcome role, meeting and greeting patients coming into the practice.
Work asa member of the reception team, providing all aspects of reception dutiesincluding taking and recording messages, booking of appointments for patientsand answering telephone enquiries.
Processnew patient registrations and temporary registrations.
Respondappropriately to verbal complaints and refer any unresolved issues to managementwhen necessary.
Useappropriate methods to communicate effectively within a team.
Carryout a variety of clerical duties as and when required scanning, filing,faxing and photocopying.
Chaperonefor a clinician if requested.
Openpost received on site(s) and deal with it appropriately, scanning into theclinical system where required.
Recordepisodes from incoming items of post and log correctly.
Provideadministrative support for data quality.
Toassist with the daily production of prescriptions, nomads & repeatdispensing.
Toassist the support manager and other practice staff with the induction of anynew or temporary receptionist staff.
Actupon Doctors requests to follow up patients liaise with other agencies,secondary care, patients, families and carers on the practices behalf.
Takeand record messages for clinical staff home visits and further medicaladvice.
Sharedresponsibility for reception, waiting room and consultation rooms upkeep andtidiness including leaflets and posters.
Reportingof faults, equipment breakdown or failure, building maintenance to the supportmanager. Process and acknowledge receipt of monies from patients, as required.
Beaware of Health & Safety policies and procedures and report any occurrencesof incidents to management, using the incident reporting procedure.
