General Labourers

A&P Group - Falmouth, General Labourers (Heavy Lifting)

A&P Falmouth is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK, we provide a complete range of marine repair services tanks to our on-site engineering, electrical, paint and fabrication workshops.

We are now looking to recruit General Labourers on a full-time, permanent basis to support our work. All applications will be considered, and a small number of positions are available for ‘trainees' where training can be provided for those with limited previous experience.

What you will do:

• Rig and hoist heavy equipment, machinery and components using cranes, hoists and other lifting equipment.
• Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved.
• Select and prepare appropriate rigging gear.
• Keep working area tidy throughout and after job completion.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience as a General Labourer or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment would be advantageous however, training can be provided.
• Commitment to health and safety.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work at heights.

Due to the nature of what we do for some of the customers that we work with, some roles working for A&P are subject to security control restrictions. 

This role will require that you undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPPS) check before your employment starts, which will include a basic DBS check.
