Your Team:
Joining as our Lead Engineer within our Launchpad team, you will assess software performance in real-world conditions by working directly with our vehicles. You will also develop and maintain tooling to support the delivery of quality code to vehicles, and then leverage this knowledge to create virtual scenarios in the cloud, enabling us to test the quality of our software at scale. As a member of Launchpad you will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the system’s components and interactions, and as a lead there is particular focus on identifying areas for improvement and driving strategic improvements to drive our technical capabilities forwards.

Your Responsibilities:
- Owning, maintaining and delivering the roadmaps for the initial Autonomy Concept.
- Ensuring alignment of the roadmaps and their delivery to the broader business objectives.
- Working with customers, stakeholders and leaders to identify customer needs and workflows.
- Team organisation and planning, delivering milestones and business goals.
- Reporting and documenting team activity, to track progress and maintain best practice.
- Engaging with other teams to ensure correct prioritisation of new features and timely issue resolution.
- Supporting the Integration Lead in the team with technical expertise and domain knowledge of the applications of an autonomy product.
- Lead a cross-functional team in the field to:
- Operate, test, and debug our autonomy system end-to-end to ensure functionality is at a customer-ready level.
- Identify key product requirements for the customer workflows, and design testing scenarios that stress our system.
- Assess software performance, leveraging cloud-based simulation tools to scale our testing.
- Test cutting-edge code, and prepare base software versions for customers.
- Investigate and analyse data to enable issues to be identified and resolved.
- Drive strategic improvements to advance technical capabilities and product quality.
- Maintain high agility to resolve issues at short notice.
Requirements
What you need to succeed:
- Experience working with autonomous vehicles, ADAS or similar complex robotics systems.
- Experience managing a team of engineers doing product development or delivering an engineering service
- Track record of fostering cross-functional collaboration between engineering, commercial, marketing, sales and other departments
- An analytical mind that can work in a fast-paced complex matrix environment to identify engineering needs and resolve issues
- Must have a strong ability to manage stakeholder communication & risk management across multiple domains
- Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to clearly articulate progress, risks, challenges and strategy to both technical and non-technical teams
- Highly analytical demeanour with an ability to make decisions using both quantitative and qualitative data to drive engineering design, development and operations.
- Quickly move between contexts, and demonstrate agility and focus while continuing to deliver across multiple work-streams
