Are you a Mental Health Nurse looking for a new opportunity?

At Schoen Clinic York we are looking for caring individuals who can combine clinical expertise with a compassionate approach to patient care to join our highly specialised clinic treating adults within a mental health setting with both Eating Disorders and Dementia. Whether that be part time or full time, we are looking for Mental Health Nurses to join us as we expand our services.

Main duties of the job

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will ensure that the highest standard of evidence-based nursing care is delivered to all patients and their families and act as patient advocate, ensuring privacy, dignity and confidentiality are met throughout their time with us.

You will work closely with a large multidisciplinary team, ensuring that all individual care plans are followed whilst adhering to the policies, procedures and guidelines that relate to nursing.

You will be required to ensure meals are supervised and care plan around meals are followed, be able to administer meal replacement plans as prescribed by the hospital dietitian and ensure a high standard of infection control and the prevention of all avoidable healthcare associated infections.

Schoen Clinic York is a highly specialised Hospital for adults in the North of England. We are currently based on the ground floor of Minster Grange as an eating disorder hospital, and in September 2024 will be expanding to cover the full building with other service lines including Dementia care. We are situated just off Haxby Road which is 10 minutes drive from York Train Station and 4 miles from the A64.

Skills and knowledge up to date with current nursing practice Ability to plan care Ability to manage a personal caseload Understanding of on-going professional development requirements Good communication skills - Verbal & written Understanding of private medicine and the relevant legislative frameworks Knowledge of clinical governance Knowledge of NMC Code of Practice & the role of the CQC Minimum of one years post registration experience

Desirable

Ensure mandatory training is attended Maintain current awareness regarding nursing services Previous experience of working with patients with an Eating Disorder Working in a senior role
