The Role

To work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals. Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service. You will also Implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters. Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings. Discharge or transition care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.

Duties may vary depending on the care group / department or assigned area of work.

What we'll need you to bring

HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment. Short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area. Full driving licence holder. Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area. Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group. Basic assessment skills. Ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Time management, planning and organisational skills. Working knowledge of basic information technology. Ability to work individually, or as part of a team Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.

It would be great if you also have

Breadth of experience of therapy or rehabilitation / re-ablement in a health, education or social care environment Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area Working knowledge of basic information technology

29.90 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Physiotherapy within University Hospital Wishaw.
