Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Blyth

Salary: £26,000 per annum

I am excited to act on behalf of a valued client to recruit an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant for their growing firm based in Blyth. This role presents a wonderful opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the financial success of a forward-thinking company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Invoice Processing: Manage the processing of supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Expense Management: Oversee employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assistance with Audits: Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as required.
  • Data Entry: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Provide support with various accounting tasks and projects as needed.


Requirements
  • Education: A degree in Accountancy and Finance, AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills
