We are currently working with a lovely SEN Secondary School in Romsey. We are looking for a pro-active and personable individual to support KS3 and KS4 classes who cater for pupils with SEN needs. The school’s focus is providing a nurturing environment that enables the pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.

 

Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

· Supporting the class Teacher (4-8 pupils per class)

· Supporting with outdoor day trips and activity days

· Embrace all aspects of the school’s visions and core values

· Working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviours

· Full-time 8:30am to 3:30pm

· 1:1 and small group work ensuring pupils stay on track with the curriculum

 

The ideal candidate will:

· Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient - this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding

· Experience working within a SEN school (not essential)

· A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

To work with GSL Education as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you should:

· Have the right to work in the UK.

· Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.

· Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
