SEN Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a local school in Romsey. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Contributing to the overall well-being of students and promoting a positive school ethos.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.
