TheElectronic Patient Record (EPR) is an integral part of this strategy and is transforminghow the clinical teams function. We are 18 months into our transformationjourney but still have a lot to do.

The Senior Digital Nurse team need experienced Nurses whounderstand nursing processes and workflows to be part of transforming ourdocumentation onto our digital systems. The Senior Digital Nurse role supportsthe development and implementation of the EPR.

The Senior Digital Nurses work very closely with the ChiefNursing Information Officer (CNIO) and the Benefits Lead, the EPR team andclinical and nursing teams within the clinical environment to understand thecurrent ways of working with the goal of supporting the delivery of the EPRacross the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Be knowledgeable in clinical processes and have the vision toadapt paper-based processes to a digital format.

Ensure the digitisation of patient care is evidence based andthat the patients journey is streamlined and supported through the digitalsolutions proposed.

Support the development and implement of digital patientpathways as appropriate.

Use a wide range of knowledge base and sources to determine timerequired factors of assessment or admission, including the most appropriate andsafe patient pathway.

Understand change management techniques and methodologies and beable to adapt the approach to a wide range of stakeholders.

Identify, track and analyse benefits of any clinical informationsystem or process for patients and families, staff and the service.

Understand and act as champion for the General Data ProtectionRegulations (GDPR).

Participate in Directorate/Departmental meetings and lead ondigital discussions with clinical peers.

Oversee digitisation of set patient care programmes inaccordance with agreed policies.

Act as a role model when carrying out and demonstrating digitalsolutions.

Provide expert advice and support to colleagues on digitalsolutions.

Support the clinical teams by ensuring the digitisation ofwritten patient information can be captured in the DCR. This includesappropriate workflow management.

The ElectronicPatient Record (EPR) is an integral part of this strategy and will transformhow the clinical teams function.

The Senior Digital Nurse role will support the development and implementation of the EPR,which is the Trusts electronic patient record solution.

The Senior Digital Nurses will work very closely with the Chief Nursing Information Officer, Benefits Lead, the EPRteam and clinical and nursing teams within the clinical environment tounderstand the current ways of working with the goal of supporting the deliveryof the EPR across the Trust.

Willwork with the Chief Nursing Information Officer, Benefits Lead, the EPR team and clinical and nursing teams within the clinical environment to understand the current ways of working with the goal of supporting the delivery of the EPR across the Trust.

Willassist in the training for all Clinical teams. This will include the productionof training materials on system functionality as well as working with theNursing Education teams to ensure the systems, solutions and processes areembedded safely across the organisation.

Willsupport the Clinical teams in the new ways of working ensuring they are able toadopt the new solutions. This will include taking on-board feedback and workingwith the system configuration teams to enable system change as required.

Willprovide floor walking support as the new processes become embedded within theTrust. This will include key go-live support as well as ad-hoc visits to areasrequiring specialist support.

Willanalyse inpatient and outpatient work practices, working with our Clinicalteams supporting changes to process to achieve increased efficiency andenhanced clinical effectiveness through the DCR

Willwork with clinical, nursing, operational management and support teams acrossthe wider Trust and NHS,

Asan ambassador of the profession, you will ensure clinical practice, supportedby digital technology, supports professional standards and that functionalitydeployed adheres to / supports practitioners professional standards the Nursingand Midwifery Council

KnowledgeSkills & Experience:

Beknowledgeable in clinical processes and have the vision to adapt paper-basedprocesses to a digital format.

Beknowledgeable about current infection control procedures and policies andensure all staff and visitors always adhere to these.

Beknowledgeable about the risks of infection and take responsibility forminimising cross infection within the clinical environment.

Ensurethat the digitisation of patient care is evidence based and that the patientsjourney is streamlined and supported through the digital solutions proposed.

Supportthe development and implement of digital patient pathways as appropriate.

Usea wide range of knowledge base and sources to determine time required factorsof assessment or admission, including the most appropriate and safe patientpathway.

Identifyand define digital alerting systems that include assessments, and suggestappropriate digital interventions and solutions at any point on the pathwayincluding discharge when patients are no longer meeting the agreed appropriateand safe patient pathway.

Assess and act upon potentialproblems or issues to ensure a safe, effective digital environment for staff,patients, and visitors.

Identify, analyse, and act uponstaff situations when there is conflict and / or deviation from Trust or localpolicies and procedures.

Understand change managementtechniques and methodologies and be able to adapt the approach to a wide rangeof stakeholders.

Identify,track and analyse benefits of any clinical information system or process forpatients and families, staff and the service.
