Responsibilities

Responsible for managing maintainingmonitoring and patching Linux (RedHat/CentOS) and Microsoft WindowsServer Operating Systems on physical and virtualized operatingenvironments.

Responsible for managingconfiguring and troubleshooting Cisco 9000 series switches and NextGeneration Firewalls.

Install configureevaluate and maintain operating systems (Linux/MS Server)application software and system management tools.

Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by runningdiagnostics documenting problems and the resolutions prioritizingproblems and assessing impact of the issues.

Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructureavailability.

As directed assist with thecustomers accreditation process to achieve an Authority to Operateincluding utilizing DISA STIG standards Conducting System SecurityScans addressing noncompliance issues and hardening systems usingbest practices.

Work closely with system usersand IT colleagues to ensure that server systems perform as requiredand meet system user functional needs.

Participated in the design of information and operational supportsystems.

Provide Tier 3 levelsupport.

Optimize all stages of the systemlifecycle from initial planning to testing through the finalverification and beyond.

Requirements and skills

Proven working experience in installing configuring andtroubleshooting Linux & Microsoft based environments.

Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g.VMware Virtual Box)

Proven working experiencewith Cisco switches and next Generation Firewalls

Proven experience working through a systems securityaccreditation process.

Defines and discerns keyaspects of a problem and develops an integrated solution within abroad technical and business context.

Must beable to describe technical issues to nontechnical groups.

Strong understanding of and experience with systemvirtualization and virtual machine orchestration.

Excellent communication skills verbal andwritten.

Ability to work independently as wellas collaboratively with the team.

BachelorsDegree.

8 years related experience withBachelors Degree or 12 years without degree
