Job Description

As a Financial Controller, key to your role will be to ensure that the financial information relating to The Grand is recorded and reported accurately and on time. Maintain balance sheet control to ensure predictable financial reporting.

Key deliverables

• Monthly management accounts produced and issued in line with strict reporting timetable.

• All balance sheet account reconciliations produced and reviewed on a monthly basis.

• Strong and trusting relationships established with all stakeholders.

• 100% compliance with all internal control procedures for The Grand.

• Opportunities for transformational change in financial reporting across the hotel and finance team identified and/or implemented

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all reports issued in relation to The Grand are timely and accurate. In particular, the monthly management accounts need to be issued in line with the strict month end timetable.

• Responsible for balance sheet control, including 100% compliance of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.

• Build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders, and in particular, General Manager, Director of Finance Grand, the Group Financial Controller.

• Line Manage the on property Finance Team, conducting regular 1:1 meetings and setting individual SMART goals.

• Understand the drivers of EBITDA for The Grand, including Key Performance Indicators. Communicate trends and opportunities to improve EBITDA to the RFBP, Hotel General Manager and Senior Leadership Team in a timely and proactive manner.

• Monitor and maintain compliance of internal controls.

• Support internal and external audits, implementing new control recommendations and ensuring compliance with existing policies.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, effectively present ideas and turn them into practical actions.
