Financial Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Michael Page (UK). As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting and financial systems, implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures, and preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company's accounting and financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
  • Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures, ensuring efficient and effective financial management.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the company, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyse financial performance and forecast longer-term horizons, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Track the company's financial status and performance, identifying areas for potential improvement.
  • Balance sheet preparation to a strict deadline.
  • Management of a small team.
  • Managing the sales tax submission processes.
  • Continuous process improvement.
  • Preparation of management accounts and leading year-end audit process.

Requirements:

  • Professional Accountancy qualification or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of business tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Continuous improvement mentality and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
