Financial Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Michael Page (UK). As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting and financial systems, implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures, and preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company's accounting and financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
  • Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insightful analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial plans for the company, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Track the company's financial status and performance, identifying areas for potential improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage a small team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of financial objectives.

Requirements:

  • Professional Accountancy qualification or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
  • Strong understanding of business tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
